Email Notifications
OrderTrackify sends Shopify customer shipment notifications directly through Amazon SES. Catch-up protection suppresses historical, superseded, and stale events after imports or worker recovery.
Delivery Architecture
Unlike WooCommerce, Shopify customer shipment emails are sent directly by the OrderTrackify worker through Amazon SES and branded with the merchant name. These are operational, transactional messages: when customer email delivery is enabled and a shipment has a valid recipient, eligible events are attempted according to delivery and catch-up rules rather than an order-level notification preference. Platform account emails—such as password reset, billing, and usage messages—also use SES.
Catch-up Protection
- The first state observed during a historical baseline is suppressed.
- A queued event is suppressed if it is no longer the shipment's current state.
- Freshness limits are 12 hours for out for delivery, 48 hours for available for pickup, and 24 hours for other non-delivered states.
- Delivered catch-up is configurable to 0, 24, 48, or 72 hours; the default is 48 hours.
- Eligible catch-up sends are limited to 10 per store per minute.
